About the site: Northwest Herps made its debut in January of 2001. At that time it was hosted at a different address (I don't quite remember the title). A year later in 2002 the site was renamed "The Salamander Wrangler Ranch" which was shorted to "The Salamander Wrangler" in 2003. To commemorate its five year anniversary, I moved the site and renamed it Northwest Herps in 2006. Northwest Herps is designed as a place to share my reptile and amphibian photos online, as well as to be a resource for the greater northwest community and its growing interest in reptiles and amphibians.

About me: Joshua “Salamander Wrangler” Puhn is the founder and web-master for Northwest Herps. I am not a herpetologist, but rather an amateur photographer and outdoor enthusiast. I have put a lot of work into this site over the past 6 years and continue to add additional pictures and content as I am able. I hope you enjoy your visit to Northwest Herps.
