Oregon Spotted Frog

Identification/Variations: The Oregon Spotted Frog is a medium sized frog that is a shade of reddish brown with significant dark spotting. They have upturned eyes and have a mixture of red and white coloring below.

Range/Habitat: Found in isolated populations in western Washington, southwest British Columbia and a few in other populations in central Oregon. These frogs enjoy swampy shallow water. To find them you may need to put your waders on.

Notes: Historically Oregon Spotted Frogs were found in much greater numbers and there are even old records that they lived in the Willamette Valley in western Oregon. Today there are only a handful of healthy populations of this frog that still remain.
